PEMBERTON, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
The first stage of the vineyard (6 hectares) was planted in 1999 from vine material sourced from the neighbouring vineyard Picardy. Further plantings in 2000 and 2002 saw the area rise to 26 hectares comprising the varieties Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with careful vine/genetic material selection being paramount. The experienced advice from Bill and Dan Pannell from Picardy, ensured that the right varieties were matched to the most suitable sites with regards to soils, rootstocks and topography.
